Report on female athlete complicates things

By now everybody has probably seen the pictures of Caster Semenya, the 18-year-old female 800-meter runner from South Africa who has been undergoing test to determine, not whether she is using some type of banned substances, but whether she is indeed a woman. Wondering about the gender of athletes has long been a problem of men's ice skating and female powerlifting, but it's hasn't been too much of a problem in track and field until now (read the initial story  here.)    It is indeed a strange case. She was subjected to the test and it appears that the intial report is back with a very interesting twist.
